Kodak Says You Press the Button, Someone Else Will Do the Rest

Kodak this week announced that they were putting the division that sells consumer film up for sale as part of their attempt to raise enough money so that they can leave bankruptcy.

While this doesn't mean that any current Kodak film, processing, or paper product is going away any time soon, it does imply that there will likely soon be a different owner, one who will be focused on making profitable film products, not every film product under the sun. The more popular products should live through whatever ownership transition that lies ahead, but if you're a connoisseur of some of the more obscure or speciality products, you might want to consider this a time to either stock up or figure out what other options you have.

As more details about any ownership transfer become available, I'll report them here.
